Caroline Elizabeth "Callie" Barham was born December 7, 1866 in Henry County, Tennessee to John William Barham and Mary Elizabeth Turner Barham.

Her mother died November 29, 1869 in Osceola, Mississippi County, Arkansas just one week after the birth of her younger sister, Willie Anna Barham.

Callie married William Harvey Abernathy Feb 7, 1886 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee.

Mrs. Callie E Abernathy of the Nankipoo community died Sunday night after a long illness. Born in Henry County, she moved to Lauderdale County as a child.

Services were held Tuesday morning at 11 at Melville Methodist Church with the Rev. William Brantly officiating. Burial was in Halls Cemetery with Garner Funeral Home in Charge.

She is survived by two sons, Hermon Abernathy, Halls; Sterling H Abernathy, Memphis; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Pennington, Halls; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
