Rites Slated For Bob Abel Of Edmond
EDMOND --- Services for Bob Abel, 4I, principal of the Cushion public schools, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Edmond with burial in El Reno Cemetery directed by Baggerley Funeral Home. He died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City following a lengthy illness.
Abel, a native of Oklahoma City, lived in El Reno from 1945 until 1955 when he moved to Edmond. He received his BA and MA degrees from Central State College and was a veteran of the Korean war.
Abel, who had been a member of the Cushion school system for 14 years, was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Oklahoma Education Association, the Kingfisher County School Masters and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; a daughter, Paula Jane, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Pauline Abel, El Reno, and a brother, Oliver Poe, Tulsa. Friends may call at the funeral homo until 8 a.m. Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Fund at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
