George Namon Abernathy, 73, Athens, died Thursday at his residence.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Abernathy was an Army veteran of World War II and was a contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Estelle H. Abernathy; a daughter, Barbara Baugher of Athens; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
