OBITUARY
Tommy Abner, 51, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Harlan, departed this life on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

He was a native of Harlan County and had lived here most of his life. Tommy worked for many years as an ambulance and funeral home attendant. He was of the Church of God faith.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Tom Abner and Mary Evelyn Taylor; and grandparents, Pete and Alpha Glisoni.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Creech; four children, Tommy, Tony, Adrain and Ashley Abner, all of Lawrenceburg; three brothers, John Abner (Missy); Mike Abner (Teresa), both of Harlan; and Billy Stevens of Virginia; four sisters, Donna Perkins (Mike), of Berea; Sabrina Coldiron (Mitchell); Debbie Saling (Marvin); and Kathy Laws, all of Lawrenceburg; seven grandchildren; and a special friend, Shawn Creech of Lawrenceburg.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2009 at Harlan Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery with friends and family serving as pallbearers.

Harlan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
