Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and continues one hour prior to services at the church.

Gladys Meta (Doehle) Clark was born May 7, 1907, in Wildrose Township, Burleigh County, the daughter of August and Anna (Vetsch) Doehle. She was raised and educated in that area and later attended high school in Kulm and Edgeley.

Gladys married Leslie Clark Nov. 9, 1926, in Bismarck. They lived their entire married life on the Clark farm south of Bismarck, where Leslie was born.

Gladys was township assessor for many years and also served on the school board. She was a member of Glencoe Presbyterian Church.

During those early years she especially enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and crocheting. Leslie died in 1985, and Gladys continued living alone on the farm until 1992, when she moved to Bismarck to reside with her son, Wayne.

Gladys was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and many good friends. She is survived by her son, Wayne Clark, Bismarck; her granddaughter, Mari Lyn Clark-Longshaw and her husband, Adrian Longshaw, and great-grandson, Elijah Wayne Longshaw, all of Hopewell, Jamaica; her grandson and wife, Gary and Sharon Dire, Mandan; and her nephews and nieces, Dean and Sharon Beard, Bismarck, Linda and Rick Moen, Larimore, Barbara and Bill Horgan, Hot Springs Village, Ark., Douglas and Marlene Doehle, Eagle, Idaho, Lowell and Marilyn Doehle, Yakima, Wash., Anna Coles, Seattle, Melody and Patrick Neely, Vacaville, Calif., and Warren Doehle Jr., Milwaukie, Ore.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Leslie; her infant daughter, Marilyn Kay Clark; two sisters, Helen and Edna; and four brothers, Milton, Fred, Ernest and Warren.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center for all the care they've given Gladys.
