"FORMER LEGISLATOR DIES AT 94

"ENTERPRISE --J. E. Pittman, a Coffee County farmer and school teacher who became the County's first farm agent and later served in the state legislature, died here Saturday at 94.

"Pittman was elected to the legislature when he was 38 and took office in 1911.

"He also served more than two decades, from early 1930's to the mid 1950's, as chairman of the Coffee County Board of Education.

"He was one of Coffee County's oldest residents."
