Harold R. Abair
Harold R. ABAIR, 63, Rt. 5, Rochester, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Medial Center, South Bend. He had been ill since Feb. 1.
He was born June 23, 1922 in Marshall County to Peter and Nellie LARGE ABAIR, and moved here 35 years ago from South Bend. On March 2, 1943 in Rochester, he was married to Dorothy BROCK, who survives. He was retired from Bendix Corp., South Bend, was a member of United Auto Workers Union, Bendix Local No. 9; the Rochester Masonic Lodge, and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the South Pacific.
Surviving with the wife are a son, Mickey [ABAIR], and a granddaughter, Miranda ABAIR, both of McMinnville, Tenn., and a sister, Velma CORDES, Argos.
Services with Masonic rites will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home in Rochester with the Revs. Junior BOSE and John JOHNSON officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and on Sunday until time of services. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
