Abeita died Dec. 15, 2009, in Albuquerque. She was born in Ojo Encino, into the Bit Water People Clan for the Mexican People Clan.
Abeita was a life resident of Whitehorse Lake.
Survivors include her common law husband, Tommy Mescal of Whitehorse Lake; son, Kenneth Abeita of Whitehorse Lake; daughters, Jean Mescal, Ella M. Castillo, both of Whitehorse Lake; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
Abeita was preceded in death by her brother, Chiauito Castillo; sister, Elsie Tomacito.
Pallbearers will be James Castillo, Limbert Abeita, Lawrence Johnson, Scott Abeita, Glen Mescal.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Whitehorse Lake Chapter, following services.
