Mrs. Abell was a sales clerk at the Crosby Brothers store in Topeka for many years.
She was born March 24, 1908, in Morris County, the daughter of Peter Gottfried and Esther Elizabeth Young Bersuch. She attended Wilsey High School.
Mrs. Abell was a former member of Oakland Presbyterian Church and the Crosby Retirement Group, both in Topeka.
She married Charles L. Abell on June 3, 1925, in Council Grove. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Abell also was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Jean Peterson, and two grandchildren, Mary Catherine Abell and Charles "Sonny" Walker.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Robert Abell, Wamego, and Donald Duane Abell, Madera, Calif.; a daughter, Kathryn Sue Murray, Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Dora Edwards, Wichita; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Burial will be in Wilsey Cemetery. Relatives and friends will meet from noon to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wamego City Hospital nursing staff, sent in care of the funeral home.
