Mrs. Foley was born March 28, 1919 the daughter of Rufus and Lula Mae Mabe Abbott. Mrs. Foley was a native of Chatham County and a homemaker. She was a good Christian lady and of the Baptist faith. Tessie was preceded in death by her husbands, Leroy Elkins, Paul Hooper and Robert Foley and an infant son, Earl Lynn Elkins.
She is survived by two sons: Clay Lee Elkins of Greensboro, N.C., Clyde S. Elkins and wife, Margaret of Pleasant Garden, N.C.; step-daughter, Sylvia Stanley of Simpsonville, S.C.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The graveside service will be Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Bear Creek Baptist Church, 1278 Bonlee-Carbonton Road, Bear Creek with Rev. Bob Wachs officiating.
