John E. Acra, 87, who made his home with his niece, Mrs. Lena Rowe, of Achilles, died on Sunday, March 25, in a Peninsula hospital. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Oscar Rowe, of Mathews, and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Sioux Tribe No. 9, IORM, and of Union Baptist Church. The funeral cortége left Hogg Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Wednesday for Union Baptist Church where services were held at 2:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. George M. Kissinger, III, pastor. Members of Sioux Tribe No. 9, IORM served as honorary pallbearers, and were in charge of fraternal rites at the grave.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
