Rosemary Aanenson, 76, Luverne, died Saturday, April 4, 1998, in Luverne Community Hospital.

Services were Wednesday, April 8, in Grace Lutheran Church, Luverne. The Rev. Dell Sanderson and Maurice Hagen officiated. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Luverne.

Rosemary Colwell was born to William and Grace (Nelson) Colwell on July 6, 1921, in Kanaranzi Township, Rock County. She attend country school and was active in 4-H. She graduated from Magnolia High School in 1940.

She married Orville Aanenson on July 6, 1941, in Luverne. The couple lived in Luverne. She worked for Myhre Photography Studio in Luverne. They moved to a farm near Magnolia in 1944. They moved to a farm south of Hardwick in 1948. They farmed till 1978 and then moved to Luverne. She worked on the Luverne High School cafeteria staff for 19 years before retiring for health reasons.

Mrs. Aanenson was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. She was a member of GLCW and participated in Circle activities. She belonged to the Hardwick Ladies Birthday and a pinochle club. She enjoyed dancing, baking, cooking and embroidery.

Survivors include her husband, Orville Aanenson, Luverne; two sons and daughters-in -law, Alan M. Aanenson and Dixie Aanenson, Luverne, and Randall and Donna Aanenson, Garretson, S.D.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Gloria and James Rolfs, Carol and Jim Hatting, all of Luverne, Joyce and Gordon Hansen, Hardwick, and Joan DeSchepper, Garretson; 12 grandchildren, Amy (Brad) Petersen, Kami and (Jason) Adams, Angela (Brad) Ahrendt, Jennifer and (Tim) Walgrave, Carrie Hansen, Scott, Shelby, Heidi, Micheal, and Rebecca Aanenson, and Matthew and Michelle DeSchepper; five great-grandchildren, Derek and Megan Petersen, and Brooke Ann. Cole and Mace Rose Walgrave, two brothers, William Colwell, Luverne and Lowell Colwell, Ellsworth; one sister, Jeanette (Dan) Heimer, Kansas City, Kan., and one sister-in-law, Tillie Colwell, Sioux Falls, S.D..

Mrs. Aanenson was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Leslie Colwell, and one sister Ruth Strassburg.

Engebretson Funeral Home, Luverne, was in charge of arrangements.
