Maureen Harwell, 97, of Lebanon, Missouri, formerly of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma departed this life on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Neighborhood Residential Care Center in Lebanon. She was born in Briggsville, Arkansas on September 26th, 1912 to Henry Chambers and Pearl Bogle Chambers. On June 22, 1935 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Harwell who preceded her in death on November 29, 2000. They were married 65 years. Maureen was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mildred Abel, and a son, Lyle Buford Harwell. Maureen was a retired nurse and served on the first "heart bypass" surgical team in Oklahoma City. She was a member of the graduating class of Holdenville High School, 1930. Maureen was a member of Capitol Hill Free Will Baptist Church and supported the ministry of Billy Graham. She loved to travel; visiting Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and most of the United States. She is survived by a son, Reverend Roger and wife, Barbara, of Lebanon, Missouri; two granddaughters, Jonice Helton and husband, Gary, of Lebanon and Susan Hendriek and husband, Michael, of Oklahoma City; three great grandchildren: Amy Rumfelt and husband, Brad; Joshua Helton and wife, Jessica; and Jonathan Helton, all of Lebanon, Missouri; four great-great granddaughters: Kaitlin Ivey, Karley Rumfelt, and Saylor and Stella Helton of Lebanon. Services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Monday, February 8, 2010 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville, Oklahoma. The family requests no flowers, however, memorial contributions can be made to Franklin Graham's "Samaritan's Purse". Services are under the direction of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home, 301 East Main Street in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
