Mrs. Earl (Anna) England Downy was
born February 6, 1907, in Wayne, Kans.,
daughter of Henry and Tina Broden
England, and died December 10, 1979 at
the Indian Creek Nursing Center in
Overland Park. She was 72.
She attended school in Wayne and
graduated from Concordia High School. In
1929 she graduated from Bethany Hospital
School of Nursing in Kansas City, Kans.,
and was employed as a nurse in Kansas
City.
She married Earl Downy in April of
1930.
She was a member of the Trinity
United Methodist Church in Kansas City.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; two brothers, Earnest and
Clarence; two sisters, Olive Abrahams
and Francis Holmberg.
Survivors include her husband of 828
N. 70th in Kansas City; one daughter, Mrs.
Patricia Adams of Kansas City; one
granddaughter; two brothers, Lester of
Richmond, Calif.; Donald Broden, Kansas
City; three nieces, Emily Wilcox, Concordia;
Marian Lee Ahlberg, Elizabeth
Ann Ward, Clay Center.
Services were held December 12 at
Porter Funeral Chapel in Kansas City with
burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas
City.
