Obituary (containing most of the original spellings, punctuations and capitalizations therein) of Elizabeth OGG-KINSEL, extracted from The Hamden Enterprise, Vinton Co., OH., dated Thursday February 5, 1880, obtained from microfilm in the Vinton County Library on October 2002:
"IN MEMORIAM.
Elizabeth Kinsel was born in Morgan County, Ohio, February 13, 1815, and departed this life at her late residence in Vinton county, Ohio, January 21, 1880, aged 64 years, 11 months, and 23 days.
Her maiden name was Ogg, and she survived all the members of her father's family. Was joined in marriage with Martin Kinsel at the age of 24 years, with whom she brought up five children - two sons and three daughters - all of whom are living and heads of families. Many grand-children mourn the loss of maternal counsil and care of one who loved them, and whose age and experience made her a wise counsellor.
She joined the Regular Baptist Church and was baptized under the labors of Elder Thomas Martin, and had lived a worthy and consistent member of that church for 38 years: was always found contending for the faith, and at her death leaves as a legacy to her husband, children and friends a clear evidence of her acceptance with God and her going to rest with Jesus.
She was for many years afflicted with asthma, and was a great sufferer. When we used to think of her it was often in her sufferings, but now we think of her at home among the blessed. May the grace of God bring her to those who were given her in family circle in this world.
Funeral services conducted by Elder John Southward, at the residence, before the burial, to which a large audience gave attendance, bespeaking the regard they had for the departed."
