Abraham, Walter G. "Wally" Age 90 of Elk River passed away Nov 21, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family.
Preceded in death by his parents, August & Emma; sisters, Elsie, Bertha, Erma, Margaret, Minnie, Myrtle, and Evelyn; brother, Roy; nephew, Emil Schmiege and niece, June Anderson.
Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lucille; children, Fr. Seraphim "Jim", Jean (Tom) Rotz, and Joan (Jeff) Gongoll; grandchild- ren, Deanna Rotz (Anthony Schlegel), Jason (Maria) Rotz, Jarrod (Emily) Rotz, Julia (Eric) Horner, Jennifer (Jesse) Lopez; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Hannah, Noah, Olivia, Mckenna, Matthew, Rachel, Marrissa, Christina, and Roman. Also survived by his brother, Harry Abraham and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
WWII Army veteran serving in the Philippines and Japan with the 43rd Div, 169 Inf. Co. B. Long-time Dairy Farmer and Avid woodworker and local Adirondack chair expert "AKA Wally's Chair's".
Mass of Christian Burial 12 Noon Tuesday at the Church of St. Andrew, 566 4th St. NW, Elk River. Visitation 4-8 PM Monday at Dare's Funeral Home, 805 Main St., Elk River, 763-441-1212 and 1 hour prior to Mass at church on Tuesday. Interment St. Andrew's parish cemetery. Memorials preferred to St. Andrew's Church or Guardian Angels Hospice.
