COOPERSBURG, Pa. - Maxine M. Acheson, 93, most recently of Coopersburg, Pa., died Feb. 19, 2010, in Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She formerly resided in Monmouth and Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Acheson. Born in Little York, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Florence (Ditto) Moore. Maxine graduated from Monmouth High School and attended Monmouth College, where she was a charter member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a homemaker and dedicated former volunteer at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

She is survived by two sons, Reed Acheson and his wife Carol of Allentown, Pa., and Donn Acheson and his wife Susan of Carlsbad, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Jonathan Acheson and Erin Acheson, both of New York City.

Cremation was accorded, and a graveside memorial and interment service will be later in Candor Cemetery in Seaton, Ill., for the convenience of the family.
