Death of Mr. J. B. Ackiss
Mr. J. B. Ackiss, 82, one of Pike county’s oldest citizens, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. D. Quick, near Zebulon, Thursday, May 27. He was confined to his bed for three years. He is survived by his wife and twelve children, Mrs. W.D. Quick, of Zebulon, Roer Ackiss, South Hill, Va., Perry Ackiss, Pell City, Ala., Fred Ackiss, Birmingham, Ala., Grover Ackiss, Pell City, Ala., Mrs. J. C. Irvin, Thomaston, Mrs. Bill Pryor, Woodbury, DeWitt Ackiss, Molena, Rual Ackiss, Hollonville, Mrs. John Quick, Haralson, Mrs. A. J. Ross, Turin. Fifty-two grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
