Lovica A. Abernathy
Lovica A. Abernathy was born in the state of Iowa May 19, 1857, age 51 years 9 months and 20 days. Came to Kansas September 1870. Was married to H. C. Abernathy Nov. 28, 1882. She united with the Christian church at the age of sixteen and was a consistent member of that church until about seven years ago when having removed where there was no church of that denomination, she united with M. E. church of White City and was a member of that church until her death, March the 8, 1909. She was good, affectionate wife and mother; always neglecting self and anxious for the welfare of her family of whom she was very proud.
She leaves an aged father and mother, three sisters and three brothers, an affectionate husband and seven children to mourn her loss, but their loss is her gain. Funeral services were held from the M. E. church Tuesday at 4 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Mayor.
