CASPER ~~ Services for Joe E Abernathy, 78, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Chapel.
Bishop Richard E Dayton will officiate with burial in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Abernathy died Feb 14 at the Shepherd of the Valley Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug 19, 1903, at Pocahontas, Ark., where he was reared and educated. He attended barber college in Denver and later moved to Swink, Colo., where he worked in the laboratory of a sugar factory. Mr. Abernathy later moved to Worland and was a chemist there at a sugar factory. He later moved to Pavillion where he farmed for 15 years. He came to Casper in 1961.
In 1939, he married Myrl Sprague at Worland.
Besides his wife, Myrl, of the family home, he is survived by two nieces, Kathleen Haley of Worland and Gwen Brazelton of Cody.
Flowers or memorials to a charity of the donor's choice would be equally appreciated by the family.
