Services for Charles W. Abell, Sr., 85, of Marion, were held March 1, 1999, at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. A.C. Hodge and Rev. Jerry Thurman officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Abell died Feb. 26, 1999 at Crittenden County Hospital. He was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Abel; two sons, Wesley Abel of Clarksville, Ind., and Douglas Abel of Holland, Mich.; two daughters, Darlene Drake of Middlebury, Ind., and Carolyn Lueken of Evansville, Ind.; a sister, Ruby Tate of Nokomis, Fla.; three brothers, Forrest Abel of Birdseye, Ind., William Abel of Evansville, and Wayne Abel of Leesburg, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Angela Abel and Betty Luker.
