Mr. Floyd F. Bynum
Mr, Floyd F. Bynum, 84, of Mendenhall, died Monday, February 6, 1989 at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson. The Simpson County native was a retired school teacher and farmer, would have been married 60 years February 18, oldest member of the Old Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church. He started the church cemetery association and was sexton for cemetery for number of years, song leader for the church for years.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 1989 at Old Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin Myers officiating. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements and burial was at Old Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery,
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ora Bynum of Mendenhall, 2 sons, Glyn Bynum of Bay Springs, MS sand O'Quin Bynum of Mendenhall, 3 daughters, Regina Hazelwood and Brend Hadley, rbothof Louisville, KY, Savilla Jones of Homestead, Fla., 2 brothers, Calborn Bynum of Magee and Walter Bynum. of Mendenhall; half-brother, Vardman Stewart of Magee; step-brother, Lester Stewart of Magee; 5 sisters, Jane Abernathy of Mendenhall, Mary Lee Bullock of Jackson, Wilma Kennedy of Puckett, Betsy Jones of Mendenhall, Lois Lane of Atlanta, GA; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
