ABRAHAMSON

Carl Renold Abrahamson was born in Sweden on the 14th of March, 1834 and died at his home in Chariton at 8:20 a.m. Monday, March 10th, 1902, aged 67 years, 11 months and 26 days.

On the 26th day of December, 1862, in Sweden, he married Miss Christina L. Anderson. Of this union four children were born, all of whom are living; Gus Walford, born February 16th, 1867; Carl Alfred, born November 2nd, 1871; Mrs. Josephine Johnson, born May 7th, 1864, and Hilda C., born July 17th, 1875.

In 1869 the family removed to America and took up their home 10 miles from Chariton on a farm. Seven years ago they moved to their present home in Brookdale.

The deceased was an honored and successful minister of the gospel, preaching for the Swedish Baptists. His last pastorate was in Lucas, Iowa.

The funeral services were held in the Chariton Baptist church at 2 o'clock on Wednesday, March 12th, conducted by his pastor, Rev. Fred Palmer, who preached from the text, 2nd Timothy 4:6-8.

The pallbearers were J. L. McKlveen, J. O. Crips, Ira Curtis, Leonidus Baker, J. A. Garland and J. M. Jamison. Interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
