Abbott, Jeanette L., 82, loving mother, sister, and grandmother passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Jeanette was a Homemaker. She grew up in Jetmore KS and taught school in a one room school house during WWII. She married Jesse Abbott on May 8, 1947. They raised 6 children moving to Wichita in 1958. They were members of St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. They lost one son (Andy) in 1979 and a grandson (Tim) in 2008. Jesse passed away in 2004.
Survived by sons Daryl of Sedgwick, David (Dave), Gregory, Timothy (Tim) all of Wichita, daughter Jennifer S Devaney of Wichita, brothers Harold Schauvliege of Dodge City, KS and Lawrence Schauvliege of Harper, KS, sisters Mildred Hamby of Wichita and Camila Stegman of Wichita, 18 grandchildren and 33 Greatgrandchildren. Brother-in-law Keith and Deloris Abbott of Beaver OK, Sister-in-Laws Alice Bump of Hill City, Mary Abbott of Stafford, Kay Abbott of Wichita, and Edis Schauvliege of Great Bend.
Services will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, Rosary 7pm, Fri. Aug. 13, Funeral Mass 10am, Sat Aug. 14. A Rosary will be held at 3pm on Sat. Aug. 14 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jetmore, KS with burial to follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Jetmore. In lieu of flowers memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
