Abi was born the daughter of Benjamin and Mary WALKER of Friskney, Lincolnshire, England. She married William ABLARD on 16 May 1856 in England. A first son, James was born in Mar 1857. The family emmigrated from England, arriving in New York in May of 1857.

A daughter, Mary Elizabeth, was born in Rochester, Monroe Co., NY. in 1858. The family moved next to Wisconsin. A son Joseph was born Jan 1860 in Wisconsin. The other children, born at Byron are Emma (1861), Lucy (1862), Benjamin (1864), Jemima (1866), George (1868), Rhoda (1871), Agnes (1874) and Ida (1878).
