Evening Telegram - No date: RUFFIN EDWARDS BURIED SATURDAY. Funeral services were held from the home near Spring Hope Saturday afternoon for Ruffin Edwards, who died in Newport News Va., early Friday. Mr. Edwards was a member of the Sandy Cross Primitive Baptist church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sallie Edwards; one son, George W. Edwards of Newport News; four daughters, Mrs. S. W. Winstead, Mrs. L. W. Brantley, Mrs. S. B. Williams, all of Spring Hope; and Mrs. J. T. Matthews of Momeyer; three brothers, Nero Edwards of Nashville, , C. C. and G. M. Edwards of Spring Hope; four sisters, Mrs. E. W. Pridgen, Mrs. Wiley Lamm, Mrs. W. T. Baker, Mrs. W. E. Morgan, all of Spring Hope and nine grandchidren; Active pallbearers were Frank Edwards, Everett Morgan, Edward Wilson, Samuel Todd, Glenn Edwards, and Cleveland Edwards. Honorary pall bearers were J. C. Matthews, I. T. Valentine, Dr. H. Brantley, F. D. Bassett, Charles Brantley, J. J. Pitt, Dr. J. C. Brantley, P. E. Daniels, Boyd Hollingsworth, J. B. Murray, A. S. Strickland, and Sidney Bass.
