Cleo M. Johnson of Milan, IL, 59, died Friday, August 25, 2000, in Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
The former Cleo Marie Spach was born July 16, 1941, in Sandwich, IL, the daughter of Lewis and Mabel (Hart) Spach. She was married and divorced three times. She had worked at Bishop's Cafeteria, Moline, St. Anthony Care Center, Rock Island, a nursing home in Sandwich, and did private duty care. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley, IL, was a volunteer with the Illowa Inagroup Office in Moline for 18 years. She was a recovering alcoholic and had been in a self-help program for 18 years.
Cleo is survived by six children and their spouses, Robin Aaronson of Coal Valley, Michael Benson of Milan, Melody and Dan Youssi of Mendota, Teresa and John Jordan of Moline, Bill and Eva Aaronson of Rock Island, and Candy and Ron Barnes of Rock Island; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin "Butch" Benson, a daughter-in-law, Cherry Benson, a granddaughter, and three brothers.
Services for Mrs. Johnson are 11 AM Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Sandwich, IL. Burial is in Little Rock Township Cemetery, Plano, IL. Visitation is 6 to 9 PM Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline.
