This person was my grandfather. He served in the Spanish American War. Enlisted at the age of 17 and was put to the task of cooking as he was too young to fight. When he became 18 he enlisted into the infantry . I have a photo of him with his rifle taken in the Phillipines around 1899. He was a farmer after he returned home from the war. He is buried not far from his home farm in Logan Co.Ky in the community of Chandlers Chapel.He married Myrtie Francis Cox in Logan Co., Ky. at the home of the preacher in Bucksville, Ky.on November 25,1903. They had 2 girls and 3 boys. All passed away before 2008.
