LeRoy R. Abbott, 75, of Grove, Oklahoma died Monday, July 14, 2008, at Grand Lake Villa Nursing Center. He was born in San Pedro, California on July 2, 1933, to LeRoy Abbott and Mildred Smith Abbott.

LeRoy served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until 1955. He was a computer programmer for the U.S. Government for 35 years at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma and he was the proprietor of Abbott's Store and Station near Grove for 10 years. He was a member of the Bethel Acres Lion's Club for 21 years serving as president during the 1980's.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his mother Mildred, brother William Ebert and his wife Leta.
Survivors include sons, Mike Abbott and wife Nicole of Georgetown, Texas, Russell Abbott and wife Sandy of Siloam Springs Arkansas; daughter, Carolyn Eskew and husband Terry of Grove; grandsons, Justin Abbott of Woodward, Oklahoma, Caleb Abbott of Grove, Tim Eskew of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and great-grandchildren, Colton Trace Abbott and Payslee Faith Abbott of Woodward, Oklahoma. Visitation for LeRoy Abbott will be from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Cremation is planned and final inurnment will be at Cayuga Cemetery near Grove. Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove is in charge of arrangements.
