She was born Sept. 7, 1931, in Sherman County east of Loup City to Lewis and Bessie (Fisher) Adams.
Survivors include her son, Tim Fuerstenau and his wife, Sue, of La Vista; daughters, Sharon Rood and her husband, Jack, of Kearney and Lori Richards and her husband, Dennis, of Floyds Knobs, Ind.; brother, Dale Adams of Angleton, Texas; grandchildren, Tracey Christensen and her husband, Jim, and Adam Rood, all of Omaha, Cami Hughes and her husband, Neal, of Papillion, Jon Rood and his wife, Amanda, of Kearney and Karlie Groan and her husband, Scott, of Jeffersonville, Ind.; and great-grandchildren, Laura and Abby Christensen, Ashton and Lily Hughes, Kinleigh Rood and Ariah Groan.
She grew up on farms in the Clear Creek area in western Sherman County, where she attended country grade school and graduated from Loup City High School in 1948.
Upon graduation, she moved to Lincoln to pursue her secretarial career at the State Capitol.
She then moved to Grand Island.
In 1950, she married Irvin Fuerstenau. They were divorced.
She held secretarial, office manager and administrative assistant positions with businesses in Grand Island, Denver and Kearney before retiring in 1999.
She enjoyed bowling, horse racing, embroidering, computer, her friends and family, and especially being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
