Elzora E. "Ms. Ab" Abercrombie, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, went to join her heavenly father on Friday, April 9, 2010.

She was a wonderful, caring person and will be missed by all who knew her. She was born 99 years ago on February 15, 1911, to the late Mae and James Hopper, in Moundville, AL. She was a former member of East Ridge Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the senior adults and traveled with them extensively.

She was a current member of the Kyker Sunday School Class and the oldest member of her church, Abba's House in Hixson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kelly Abercrombie; her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary (Steve) Lewis, Hazel Hart, all of Frostproof, FL, Judy (Alan) Johnston, Chattanooga, TN; two sons, David (Mary) Abercrombie, Apison, TN; Roy (Gewneva) Abercrombie, Villa Rica, GA; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Ron Phillips, the Rev. David Harr and Dr. Alan Johnston officiating.

Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South, with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN.
