James W. Aaron, Sr. -ATHENS - Mr. James W.. Aaron, Sr., 79, a native of Jackson County and a resident of Athens for most of his life, died July 5, 2002. He was the son of the late Mr. William Lafayette and Gladys Irene McLeroy Aaron. Mr. Aaron was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia Josephine Patrick Aaron. He was of the Methodist faith, a member of the Little Beaver Hunting Club, VFW Post 2872, American Legion, DAV and Woodmen of the World. Mr. Aaron served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was wounded during the Normandy Invasion. He was retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base. -Mr. Aaron is survived by a daughter: Miss Kathy Aaron of Warner Robins; two sons: Steve P. Aaron of Warner Robins and Ronald L. Aaron of Lexington, GA; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. -The funeral service will be held graveside in Magnolia Park Cemetery in Warner Robins Sunday, July 7, 2002 at 3P.M. Serving as honorary pall-bearers will be The Little Beaver Hunting Club. -In lieu of flowers, make contributions to the American Heart Association, 1353 Jennings Mill Road, Bogart, GA, 30622. -Bridges Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
