Vera was born July 5, 1921, in Bismarck, N.D., the daughter of William Elmer and Leona (Tice) Koon. She was raised and educated in Driscoll, graduating from Driscoll High School in 1939. On Jan. 26, 1946, she married Ford Power in Seattle. After their marriage, they lived in Seattle until 1955, when they moved to Southern California. In 1974, after Ford's retirement, they moved to Driscoll. She had lived in Steele the past 10 years.
Vera is survived by two daughters, Leona Anderhalt and her husband, Robert, Middletown, N.Y., and Janet Edwards, Lynnwood, Wash.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Verna Hall, Driscoll, Elvin "Ted" (Wilomeen) Koon, Fargo, Elda (Eugene) Adams, Tappen, Gene (Marlene) Koon, Willows, Calif., and Dean (Sheila) Koon, Vista, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Virgil (Bud) Koon.
