Abbott, Avery Joe age 61 of Maryville passed away at 11:15 P.M. Saturday, October 21,2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital.

He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Townsend, retired from ALCOA and a Member of their 25 year club. Member of New Providence Lodge #128 F&AM, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Order of the Eastern Star Martha Washington.

Preceded in death by parents Joe & Mary Helen Abbott.

He is survived by wife Susan (Johnson) Abbott, son Avery Keith Abbott of Maryville, daughter Rhonda Lynne Abbott of Athens, GA., sister & brother in law Vella & Luther Silcox of Cumming, GA., sisters Jane Hearon of Maryville, Connie Abbott of Alpharetta, GA., several cousins nieces & nephews.

Masonic & Funeral Services 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 24, 2000 Trinity Chapel with Rev. Darren Wigington officiating. Family & Friends will assemble at 11:00 am Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery for interment. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the National M.S. Society. The family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. until 7: 00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 24, 2000 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary.
