88, a life-long resident of Blue Licks, KY, died Sat, April 24, 2010 at his home. Mr. Abnee was born April 26, 1921 to Clarence and Hallie Swarts Abnee of Abners Mill. Mr. Abnee was a member of the Blue Licks Masonic Lodge #395 and the Carlisle Methodist Church. Mr. Abnee was a pipefitter and his professional career to him around the Eastern United States major construction projects for over 40 years. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local # 452 of Lexington, KY. He is survived by one son, Conn Abnee (Barbara), three grandchildren, Leslie Thornton, Justin Abnee (Jennifer) and Amanda Gumbert (Mark) and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Connor and Jackson Abnee. A Nephew Jerry Abnee (Lydia) of Lexington and a niece Dorothy Earlywine of Paris, KY. Mr. Abnee was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jane Dollins in 2005. Mr. Abnee leaves behind many good friends in Carlisle. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Tue at Price Bros. Funeral Home in Elizaville with funeral service at 11am Wed, graveside in the Carlisle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to the Blue Licks Masonic Lodge.
