Charles T. Aaberg, 100, a resident of the Broen Memorial Home, died Thursday, May 7, 1992, at the home.
He was born April 17, 1892, at Hot Springs, S.D., the son of Ole K. and Gina (Kveseth) Aaberg. He was baptized in Aaberg the Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church at Rapid City, S.D. At the age of 2, he moved with his family to Minnesota in a covered wagon. They settled in the Dane Prairie and Foxhome areas, and when he was 9 they moved to the Rothsay area.
He attended rural school and was confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rothsay in 1906.
During World War I, he served for a short time in the Army. On Nov. 20, 1917, he married Clara Juven at the Gol Aal Lutheran Church near Wyndmere, N.D. The couple farmed near Rothsay until 1948, when they moved to Fergus Falls. For a time Mr. Aaberg sold Watkins products, and he later
worked for West Otter Tail Service. For almost 25 years he sold and installed Acorn Barn Cleaners. For nearly four years he served as a foster grandparent, retiring at the age of 90.
Mr. and Mrs. Aaberg moved into the Broen Home in 1983, and Mrs. Aaberg died June 21,1987.
Mr. Aaberg was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and until his death was the sole surviving member of the Rothsay's Last Man's Club.
Visitation: Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church
