Mary Lou Repp Abel, the daughter of Carl and Irene Gragg Repp was born on April 1, 1932, in Albia, Iowa.
On May 28, 1951, Mary Lou married Alfred H. Abel in Newton, Iowa. They were the parents of six children, Tom, Tonda, Toni, Teresa, Tim, and Tammy. Mary Lou was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family. Mary Lou also enjoyed camping and sitting around the camp fire.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alfred; grandson, James Connell III; and sister, Patty Ann Davis.
Survivors include her children, Tom (Angela) Abel of Newton, Tonda (Tom) Hulbert of Baxter, Toni (Mark) Cupples of Newton, Teresa (Dan) Ely of Newton, Tim (Rachel) Abel of Newton, and Tammy Abel of Newton; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Gerald (Betty) Repp of Newton, Donna Jean (Maynard) Mettler of Newton, Carolyn Kay Revell of Newton, and Carl (Jane) Repp of Newton.
