Carl Aaland Victim of Heart Disease

People of this vicinity were shocked last Friday morning to learn of the sudden death of Mr. Carl Aaland. Mr. Aaland passed away early that morning at the home of J. O. Anderson, where he had been employed for a short time. Dr. A. A. Kjelland and V. E. Boe, Steele County Corner, were immediately summoned and they pronounced death due to acute dilation of the heart.
Mr. Aaland had been in Hatton Thursday evening and was apparently feeling fine. He was evidently stricken early Friday morning and passed away before medical aid could be summoned.
Mr. Aaland was born in Norway 28 years ago. Together with other members of the family he came to the United States and has the greater part of the time lived near Hatton. He leaves his mother, three brothers and one sister: Herman Aaland of Blaisdell, N.Dak., Martin Aaland of Hatton, John Aaland of Hatton, Mrs. Joseph Johnson of Stanley, N.Dak. Another sister, Mrs. Halvor Midtbo of Hatton, passed away several years ago.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Goose River Lutheran Church with Rev. A. J. Eikeland officiating. – Hatton Free Press, May 12, 1932
