Last Rites for Ragnhild Aaland Held on Tuesday

Funeral services for Ragnhild Aaland, who died last Friday [May 10] at the Halvor Midboe home, were held from the Goose River Lutheran Church near this city Tuesday afternoon. Previous to the services at the church, a short service was also held at the home. Rev. A.J. Eikeland officiated.
Mrs. Aaland had been ill during the past one and one-half years. She was born in Telemarken, Norway, October 7, 1860. She grew to womanhood there and married Mr. Aaland, who died in Norway in 1902. In 1906 Mrs. Aaland and her six children immigrated to the United States, coming directly to Iowa where they lived until 1913. They then came to Newburgh Township to make their home. She was an active member of the Goose River Church and of the Ladies Aid society of that congregation.
Survivors are four children, Martin and John Aaland of Hatton; Herman Aaland of Blaisdell, N.Dak., and Mrs. Joseph Johnson of Stanley, N.Dak. A son, Carl Aaland, died about two years ago, and a daughter, Mrs. Halvor Midboe, died in 1923.
Pallbearers were Oscar Berg, Conrad Berg, Henry Halvorson, John Halvorson, H.O. Pladson and Tollef Midtbo. – Hatton Free Press, May 16, 1935
