Allen W. Adams (A.W.) age 87 Formerly of Sky Valley, passed away April 18, 2015.
A.W. was born in Dublin, GA. He was the son of the late Wyriott and Kathleen Adams.
He was a long-time resident of Rabun county. He was president and CEO of former Bank of Clayton, now Regions Bank, and was mayor of Sky Valley 3 terms. He was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Navy, and he was the Board of Directors of Georgia Mountain Regional Economic Development Commission.
He was preceded in death by his parents 2 brothers, and one sister, and his first wife of twenty-six years, Glenn Methvin Adams.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Diane Smith Adams, four children Kathleen ( Dan) Keller, Allen (Jan) Adams, Thomas (Dana) Adams, Samuel Adams, Stepson Scott (Barbara) Scobey, sister Sarah Lanier, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Wednesday, April 22, 2015, from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M with a Funeral Service to follow at the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home at 11 A.M.
