Frank Malone Dies
Frank Malone, 28, promising young ranchman of the Agawam community and eldest son of Carl K. Malone, passed away yesterday afternoon at the Columbus hospital in Great Falls where he had been a patient for more than a month.
His condition was reported Monday as slightly better but last week his life was nearly despaired of and his brother, Jess Malone, arrived by plane from Conway, S.C. to be at his bedside. An infection started in his mouth and throat and spread to his bronchial tubes giving the disease somewhat the aspect of pneumonia with a high fever and congested lungs.
Frank was a native Teton county boy and held in highest esteem by former school mates, teachers and all who knew him. He was born March 29, 1910, and attended public schools of this county. Other schools he attended included junior high school at Everett, Wash., Teton county high school, and the Great Falls business college. After leaving the latter institution, he worked at Strain Bros. store in Great Falls for about two years and then returned to Teton county and began ranching.
About seven years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Evelyn Chapman of Great Falls, and two children, a boy and a girl, were born to the union. The boy is about six and the girl about two. Survivors besides the widow and two children, include his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Carl K. Malone; two brothers, Ebert of Agawam, and Jesse of Conway, S.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Kirkaldie, of Agawam, and Miss Catherine Malone of Great Falls.
Funeral services will be held Friday from the Methodist church in Choteau. Interment will be in Highland cemetery in Great Falls.
