KANE, Nov. 27. - (Special) - L.L. Abbott, 46-year-old WPA timekeeper, died at his home three miles northwest of here at 5 o'clock, Thursday afternoon, shortly after a shotgun with which he had been hunting near his home went off as he pushed it through a wire fence, the load striking his right side beneath the ribs.

The accident occurred a quarter of a mile from Abbott's home at "Mid City," a dance hall nearby. The man was able to walk to his house but collapsed against a tree in his yard after calling to his family. He explained that the gun had been accidentally discharged. He died five minutes later.

Abbott is survived by a wife and five children and a sister, Mrs. R. E. Cliston of Jacksonville. Until a few months ago, when he moved to the country, he had been a resident of Kane for six years.

Funeral arrangements had not been made at noon today but members of his family said his body would be taken to Jacksonville where he had lived before coming to Kane, for burial.
