He was the son of the late George Russell Aaron and Gladys Victoria Aaron and was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Aaron and R. E. Aaron.
J. V. was of the Pentecostal faith, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a 32nd Degree Mason. He worked several years for Western Union, Chattanooga Coca-Cola (Foods Division) and retired in 2002 from the Chattanooga Police Department.
Survivors include his wife Louise Aaron, two daughters, Susan (Jim) Fox, Utica, IL., Connie Breedwell, Hixson, TN., three granddaughters, Wendy Greynolds, Dawn Scoggins, Danielle Ware, three great grandsons, Alex, Aaron, Tyler, brother, Willam Russell (Betty) Aaron, of Ooltewah, TN., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Larry Burrows officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday and 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
