Funeral for Nettie Frances Abbott, 88, Verden will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 1988 at the Verden Pentecostal Church of God With Rev. Edward Whitley of Cyril officiating and Rev. Elmer Leece, pastor assisting.
She was born Mar. 9, 1899 in Durant, the daughter of Thomas Robert Ross and Dosha Bell Hearn Ross. She died Feb. 2, 1988 in Chickasha.
She married Matthew (Mat) Henderson King on Sept. 16, 1916 in Sulphur who preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1955. She married Fred Abbott on March 30, 1959 in Verden, who preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1986.
Mrs. Abbott came to Verden in 1923 from Sulphur. She had been a cook at the Brown's cafe in Verden.
Mrs. Abbott was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Verden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, her husbands and two sons, Billy Joe King in 1974 and Jack W. King in 1984.
Survivors include three sons, Robert King of Chickasha, L. D. King of Vinita, Bennie King of Duncan; two daughters, Nancy Hackworth of Exeter, Calif., Goldie Alexander of Chickasha; two brothers, Grady Ross and George Ross, both of Sulphur; one sister, Ann Loman of Sulphur; 10 grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha under the direction of Hansen-Binyon Chapel of Brown-Binyon Funeral Home.
