Bernice graduated from DeSoto, Indiana High School in 1941. Later she attended Mineral Area College where she became certified as an LPN. She pursued her chosen nursing career working for many years and did not retire until well into her 70's. In her spare time Bernice loved to travel, garden and take walks in the park. She also especially enjoyed cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Receiving and collecting photos of her grandchildren was something she always loved. Bernice will be remembered as a "shoe fanatic" who enjoyed being fashionable.
Survivors include her children, Rebecca Ann Ferrell, Dennis Lee Clark and wife, Beverly, James Clark and wife, Kathy, Alvin Eugene Counts and Penny Sue Kennon and husband, Paul; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren. Other extended family and friends also survive.
