Emmitt Abbott Funeral Sunday

Funeral services for Emmitt O. Abbott, 60, of 1118 south 22nd street, will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Everett Lemay will officiate and burial will be in Bethel cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the American Legion. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. today. Mr. Abbott, an employee of International Shoe Company, died at 8:55am Friday at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was born April 27, 1904, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Abbott. On September 11, 1942, he was married to Lorena Sheeks, who survives. Other survivors include one step-son, Cyril Curry of Mt Vernon; one step-daughter, Mrs. Claude Crowder of Mt Vernon; one brother, Clarence Abbott of Warsaw. Ind., and one sister, Leona Mannen of South Bend, Ind. He was a member of the Baptist church of Wayne City. He was also a member of the American Legion of Wayne City.
