Ollie B. Adams, 74, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 22, 2010.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur St. Graveside services will be in North Sedan Cemetery in Sedan, N.M.

O.B. was born Oct. 31, 1935, in Sedan to Bud and Mozell Adams. At the age of 13, he moved to Dumas, where he attended school.

He met Carmen Jean Pruett, and they married on March 21, 1959, in Dumas.

O.B. owned and operated many businesses, including a Gulf Service Station in Dumas, O.B. Adams Drilling Co. in Texhoma, Okla., Sprinkco Inc. in Garden City, Kan., OBA Inc. D.B.A, T. Coleman Express in Amarillo, along with farming and ranching operations in Texhoma, Walsh, Colo., Rocky Ford, Colo., and Kinsley, Kan.

O.B. served in the National Guard from 1953 to 1958.

O.B. enjoyed family and friends and working hard. He followed politics as an avid Republican.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Mozell Adams; and his wife, Carmen Adams.

Survivors include a brother, Wylie Adams of Dumas; three sons, Brent Adams and Quinn Adams and wife Kathy, all of Amarillo, and Dr. Ron Adams and wife Maggie of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Stacy Guebara of Justin; two granddaughters, Zayna Henderson of Amarillo and Tara Burkhart of Goddard, Kan.; a great-granddaughter, Zariah Warlick; and grandsons by marriage, Brandon, Derek, David and Wesley Shedd, all of Amarillo.
