A visitation was Friday at Witzleben Legacy Funeral Home. A service and burial will take place at St. Nicholas Church in Nondalton. He will be laid to rest in the Nondalton Cemetery.
Raymond was born on May 17, 1963, and had been a resident of Alaska since birth. He was a graduate of Nondalton High School in 1981. He was a commercial fisherman and a carpenter. Raymond enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His family wrote: "Raymond was a caring individual. He was always the first person to show up when help was needed. He was a hard worker who would gladly give you the shirt off his back if you needed it."
Survivors include his mother, Agnes Alexie; brothers, George and Sam Alexie; sisters, Violet Belson and Mabel Layland; grandmother, Mary Hobson; and aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
