"Mrs. Flossie Abbott Wesley, 42, wife of John Wesley, died Sunday afternoon at her home in Science Hill following an illness of several months. Born in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. B.B. Abbott and lived her entire life in this county. She united with the Baptist Church early in life and was a loyal and active member of the Science Hill Baptist Church. She taught a Sunday School class there for several years and her good deeds will long be remembered by her many acquaintances. She was a loving wife and mother and at all times maintained a Christian home. She was twice married, first to Ross Phelps, and to this union were born two sons, Sergt, Jewell D. Phelps, who is with the Army at Fort Jackson, S.C., and Boyd Phelps, who is employed in Norwood, Ohio. Besides these two sons, she is survived by her husband, John Wesley, and by another son, Claude Wesley, of Science Hill; two brothers, C.O. Abbott and Claude Abbott, both of Somerset, and two sisters, Mrs. Leslie Wilson of LaGrange, Ky., and Mrs. Leonard Meece of Norwood, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at the Science Hill Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Clifford Randall officiating, assisted by the Rev. Elmer Stevens. Interment was in the Science Hill Cemetery."
