WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, Second Lt Flight Engineer. He was a member since 1936 of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, member #7144. He won many trophies and in 1956 was the U.S. Champion for Free Flight Gliders. He was a humble and unselfish man who touched the lives of many.

Robert married Norma Imogene Teachout on 23 May 1942 and they had three children: Janis, Frances & Thomas.
